Yes,he's too young for many reasons. He isn't old enough to be fully developed physically. You cannot do proper health testing to insure you are not passing on genetic deficiencies on a pup younger than 18 months. Has your female been evaluated by a show judge to determine if she is an outstanding example of the breed standard? How old is your female? Has she been tested for genetic deficiencies? There is a whole lot more involved in breeding than passing on physical beauty.

According to the AKC website, in order for puppies to be registered the stud must be at least 7 months old so it is possible for him to be a stud for her. That does not mean its a good idea. You should weigh all the pros and cons including being aware that there is more to breeding then just putting 2 dogs together. The biggest thing that you need to be aware of is that you can lose your b**** during delivery due to many possible complications. Do your research and then make your decision. Good luck to you,

Yes it is to young. AKC will not recognize the breeding of a dog less than 8 months old (this is for biological reasons, not ethical reasons)
Since OFA will not certify a dogs hips before the age of 24 months, two years old is considdered the minimum age that any dog should be bred.

why do you want to breed your dog? there are soooo many abandoned pups in shelters and rescues, even purebreds with papers! serious breeders know the answer to this question, others shouldn't get into the "business". sorry i'm answering this way but we really have to keep the dogs in mind....

(but yes, 7 months is too young, this dog isn't even really an adult!)

You should not usse any stud less than 18 months old. Plus at this age, it would be impossible to screen for any genetic problems. Research all stud dogs to make sure they are a good match for your dog.

Ah jeeze...How many questions like these are in here??? Your dog needs to be AT LEAST 2 years old...She needs to mature into an adult....At 2 she should be matured. If you try to breed her now, there is a high chance that the pups can have serious issues, and your dog could have complications and die...Do not breed her just yet. Wait till she is old enough.

He needs to be at least 1 1/2 to 2 years old...His sperm is functionable, but since he is still not matured, it might not go so well.

I would think 7th month is too young, also I think in order to breed your dog and sell the pups, you must get yourself certified as s breeder.

Do not breed spay and neuter your pets always. There are too many homeless animals in the world as it is. Don't contribute unless you are a breeder of champion lines and they are for show purposes. And since you had to ask this question I take it you are not a breeder.

Depends on the breed, research it online for your breed. I have a male mastiff & from what I have read they are not ready for breeding till male & female are both about 3 yrs old. Most females are ready after the 2-3 heat. But again it is breed specific.
