RE:
How to write a proper thank you card for gifts received during a house warming party?

Go buy some nice note cards with matching envelopes at the Hallmark store. Don't buy the ones that have THANKYOU emblazoned across the front of them and buy the ones that are blank inside. Choose something that reflects your personality, or makes a statement about the contents of the note. Mine are pink, all my friends know that is my favorite color, and know it is from me, without reading the return address.
Now that you have the polite stationary...
Dear Mary and Roger,
It was so nice to see you both again Friday night. Thank you so much for coming to our new house. Jim and I knew we had to have a party soon after we moved in, now, since all of our friends have been here, the new house seems like a home.to us. Our home. And you being here helped with that.
Thanks so much for the beautiful crystal candlesticks, we love them. Every time we look at them we will think of you both. We put them on the mantel above the fireplace, in front of the mirror. They look fabulous!
Thanks again! Love, Susan
I was a little more wordy than is necessary, but I wanted to give you several things you might like to say.
Hope this helps.

The thank you card or not should be hand written,
on a note card or stationary is fine

I would mention the specific gift if you are able to do so
thank them not only for the gift but for attending
perhaps, if you like the person or know them well suggest having them over again soon

Thank You For Housewarming Gift

Just keep it simple, sincere and to the point. There's no need to try to go into too much detail.
If you chose to use a card with a preprinted script, add something a little personal such as " I have just the sunny window for the lovely plant" or "I love the beautiful towel set you chose".

Buy a tasteful "Thank You" card...something plain or specifically geared for a house warming. Write:
Dear ______,
Thank you so very much for the wonderful ________! What a thoughtful way to celebrate my/our new home. I/we are looking forward to using/placing ______. I/we were happy that you could help me/us celebrate this new chapter in my/our life.
Sincerely,
