The sooner drug prohibition is repealed, the sooner users will be able to get high for a tiny fraction of what they pay now and won't have to rob you and your neighbors.

I would suggest that the district police give free classes on use of firearms for personal and home defense. Ignore the legal requirements, saying "we don't have time to waste investigating the shooting of a burglar". Just focus on safety and accuracy.

If home robberies don't drop by 50%, I'd be surprised.

The police can only do with what is provided in support.

The drug problem, in my experience, is associated with the burglaries as well as with most other crimes.

To solve the problem of drug abuse and crime, social issues must be addressed along with more man-power for the police.

There must be education in the schools to deter our youth from falling prey to the plights that bring crime upon society.

Social services must be better trained and attuned to the needs of the public they serve instead of looking upon the less fortunate as another sore in their sides.

People need to be concerned with more than just themselves but those around them to encourage better communities!

Best wishes!

It doesn't sound like a question of what they can do as much as it should be what can you do. You realize that the problem exists and that the police aren't staffed and equipped to handle it. Rally your community and make it known to your elected officials that the police need more and that the community supports them. If your elected officials don't respond elect ones who will.

Educate the public. Teach home security defenses, teach them to know where in the heck their kids are.....neighborhood patrols work with the right program. Get involved and get others.
