No i dont think it is, im 18 and my bf is 25.
Aslong as everyone is legal, responsible, mature and they talk about the age gap and how they feel about it, how they will deal with any problems that may arise because of peer pressure, when they get older etc.
17 and 23 really isn't that big a difference, usually girls mature 4yrs faster than boys so its alot easier for girls to have an old bf who they are more on level with.
Age is just a number and any problems in a relationship were there is an age gap, people on the outside are very quick to blame the age for the problems which is very frustrating.
Just support your friend, aslong as she is happy and making smart choices for her it doesn't matter about age.

It seems the only people that have a problem with an age gap are the people who aren't in the relationship! My bloke mate got with a lady who is 18 years older then him. At first we thought it was strange, but when you see how happy they are together you see that age doesnt matter. There is someone out there for everyone and if they happen to be years apart then whats the problem?! If my friends happy then that fine by me! x

Would it be strange if it were a 36 year old dating a 30 year old? Hell my dad is 8 years older than my mom. To some people age is nothing but a number, as long as it is a tasteful number. 17 in most states is legal. Maybe you and your mate should mind your business.

Yeah, it is, now.
Add another 10 years to their life of 33 and 27 and it's not that big of a deal.
There is no magic... A very, very, very, mature 17 year old is only like an 18 year old. There is too much growing between 17 and 21.
A 17 year old shouldn't be with anyone older than 20.
The 23 year old is imature.

2 years is in all probability an appropriate age hollow. My brother and that i are 4 years aside (it became into purely meant to be 2, yet my mom and dad had to objective for a twelve months until now ultimately getting pregnant with him). i think of it became into stressful on the two one human beings because of the fact he hated having to attend 4 years to do the failings I have been given to do first. And whilst i became into youthful i could not bypass some places with out bringing him alongside. We did play at the same time, yet once I reached 10 or 11 the age distinction grew to alter into greater of a situation from then on. we are close now, yet did not have a super relationship until i became into out of highschool. Our age hollow in all probability would have been much less stressful if we've been the two the comparable intercourse. inspite of the undeniable fact that this is a robust adventure having a brother because of the fact all my pals have been ladies.

nah! once your over 18 its ok to go out with anyone regardless of age-although it is strange its not morally wrong. The bigger the gap the wierder it is though. Since your mates almost 18 and ther's only a six year gap it sounds fine to me.

yeah it is..... If you wait 5 years it wont be....but right now you are both at different places in your lives and are not going to be able to provide what each other are looking for. He isnt trying to make you his gf....he is just trying to have sex. He will tell you all those sweet little things..... but what can you really do together? You cant go to bars or clubs.....he doesnt wanna go to Chuck E Cheese...... If you are going to continue jsut know that it will be a purely physical relationship regardless of what is said.

When I was 17 I was going out with my first and current partner who is 32!!
So nope it's perfectly fine, as long as your both consensual and of similar maturity.
Oh and take your country's law into consideration too. Good luck :)
