That completely sucks. My husband is a firefighter and he has said the same thing- only not in those words. It's hard to offer advice not knowing what you saw- but I would suggest maybe talking to a counselor? Or talking about it to your best friend? Someone you completely confide in? My husband has seen things from A to Z responding to emergency's and such. I think all you can do is talk about it. It also seems like he has developed really thick skin when it comes to things of this nature. For some reason I get the impression what you saw wasn't of this nature. Hopefully you could not help the situation and you were just a witness to what you saw- if you could have prevented what you saw from happening well thats a completely different story.
