I only have about $50 in my account and I'm not int the position to be spending it. What are some good reasons for them to let me get this camera?

P.S. - My sister is getting a new Toyota Camry this month and my parents can hardly pull that off. I'd be buying the camera for myself, I just need their permission. What are some good ways to go?

This will give you a hobby and something to keep those 'idle hands' busy. $200 is a small investment in the realm of digital cameras. think of the money THEY could save by having you take and print pictures instead of paying for development or outside printing. Its a creative outlet thats better than graffitti. and at that price if its something that turns out you don't like, you can resell your camera and re-coup some of the money.

What is this money in your account for? Is it really "your" account or is it an account that your parents have set up for you to help you save some money for your future?

I'm assuming that if you need permission to use money in an account it's probably not meant to be used for something like this.

Perhaps instead of using the money in your account you could earn some extra cash by doing odd-jobs for the neighbors. Chores & whatnot. Taking out their garbage, mowing lawns...etc....

Show them that you've done your research and you're choosing this camera because it is of good quality and will last practically a lifetime (or give them an exact reasonable amount of years). Add some persuasive reasons why you need it, interest in photography for profit is a good one. Good luck!

I don't understand. If the camera costs $200 and you only have $50, how can you buy it?

Get a job to pay for it:) Or say you need the $50 for food or bills etc and that You'll pay them back.

Oh! And play the guilt-card;) "she's getting a car! all i want is a camera!"

All you need is to do odd jobs, and earn your own money to pay for the camera. It feels so much better when you have to work for the things you want.

If your sister is getting a brand new $25K car, and you can't have a measly $200 camera. Ask them if they love your sister more than they love you. :)

Tell them you need it for school project and really need to have it soon. Be sweet when you ask and don't say about what sister is getting.
