My dog has had terrible diaherra yesterday and today. He needs to go outside every 30 minutes. I'm guessing my grandma fed him something she wasn't suppose to since he was at her house and she doesn't listen to a word I say. I'd hate to take him to the vet and pay 100 dollars just to hear he has an upset stomach. Anyone know any home remedies? I usually feed him chicken and rice, but I don't have any chicken

my dog just went through this exact same thing the other day, but there was blood in it so i got him into the vet. they gave me antibiotics and gave him fluids and then gave me a canned bland diet. they also said he could be fed chicken or lowfat hamburger and rice, in equal parts. a small amount to start and then gradually increase if he seems better. if you don't have any chicken you need to go get some!! i would try that (because i have a feeling that is what the vet will end up telling you), but if he's not better by the end of the day, he needs to see a vet. diahrrea can cause dehydration and he could get really sick.

No food for 24 hours. Then just give him rice if you have no chicken. My mum does the same when she looks after my dogs.
She never listens either then phones me to say she can't cope because they all have the poops really bad!

the best thing to do, is not feed him any grease...... Give him plenty of water, so he does not get dehydrated. Rice is good for him also, but the main thing is no grease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
