Making beats swing without sounding robotic

This really depends on whether or not your drum machine even HAS a Swing option. On the ones that do, you would set the swing for a certain percentage to be off the beat, based on a triplet feel. However, quantizing it not really the same thing. Quantizing is lining up all the beats to be exactly correct, set to a resolution that you determine, from whole notes to 64th or so. This is good for correcting drum beats that are entered manually by tapping, or for correcting an imported song that was not recorded using a click track or metronome.
