No you should not give Nyquil to a child this young. It is quite normal for an overtired 3 year old to cry and resist going to sleep. Try rocking him or reading him a story with a sing-song voice. Try a warm bath, and giving him a little something to eat like crackers and cheese. A full tummy, low lights, soft sounds and soothing voices will do a lot better for his health and your sanity. You can make him seriously ill with the medications, so as tempting as it may be, don't do it.

there is childrens nyquil made by vicks which would be more suitable, but would not recommend if he doesnt have the cold symptoms like blocked, runny nose fever, headache the reason being it contains psudoephedrine which will cause the nasal pasages, and throat to unnescsarily dry possibly causing dicomfort with sore throat, Plus the one you have isn't the children's version of the product, to be on the safe side the answer would be no. However a very small amount diluted with water and taken with food won't cause anything nasty to happen, do not take if he has asthma, croup, allergies to other medications or upset stomach. beware of dry throat like i said and SMALL dose only, QUARTER of teaspoon (2ml)diluted. would not recommend this to be on safe side.
