imagine I almost therw up only watching and not touching anything is that normal? I mean I'm a premed student next year I'll have to dissect cadavers , how am I going to handle it??????

you probally won't have to dissect a human untill med school. Are you in high school now? dissection in medical school will be way more in depth than a rat. Just view it as a 3-d anatomy book. The rat will be preserved so it won't be bloody or smell rotten. It's not that bad.

Interesting you are dissecting a rat... I dissected a fetal pig. Anyways...

I would ignore the fact that it was a dead animal and think of it as just another lab in which you look for the location of organs and bone structures.

Well it looks like you took the wrong major. Physics or engineering might have been better. You really didn't think you were going to have to dissect something or see blood or a dead guy? Better rethink this before you have to pay back a crap-load of student loans.

If you cannot overcome your revulsion, then you really should consider another career. Medical people deal with "blood and guts" on a daily basis. If you can't even dissect a rat, I for one, do not want you tending me in a hospital or clinic.
