Don't listen to 'cowsrulecanada'. He or she is a cow for not knowing that when you have acne whether bad or good, it means that your hormones are on a roller coaster ride rather than 'normal'. I had a bit of acne as well, not heavy, I just always seemed to have fine spots on my forehead and I tried everything! Acne treatments, creams and everything! Well it all went away about 1 and a half years ago when I decided to go on the pill. I'm on Yasmin now and my skin looks like a baby's.Soft and spotless!! If you want to know which pill is the best for you, then I advise you to go and talk to your doctor first, because they usually ask you a few questions before they Analise which pill will suit you best. Go to the doctor and tell him/her that you want to go on the pill, you must also state if it's for birth control reasons, and explain to them your concern about your skin.

The thing with the pill is, it brings your hormones back to normal. And because your hormones are what it should be, your skin will automatically clear up!
Hope this information was useful!!

even though i am 44 and rarely get pimples for some odd reason i looked up all about them last night for about 3 hours on this computer strange man eh.
anyway the scientific legitimate sounding pages all said about the same thing . wash your face / area 2 or 3 times a day . rinse well. don't over scrub. use peroxide and salic acid to treat them . both the substances are found in a variety of acne products. the other medications they mentioned were mostly only available from a doctor . one common thing a dermatologist seems to do is use antibiotics to treat them.
the things i read went into some length about what not to do or use. toothpaste no. other odd things people have dreamed up.
some of the pages that seemed to have some real credentials behind the writer did say that using warm then hot water to open the pour and then cold then hot repeatedly would aid in preventing them . they did say not to do that when you already have one.
popping them was said to be terrible thing to do as it spread the bacteria all about the area and made more of them .
using anti bacterial soap on them was said to be good and leaving some on over night was mentioned many times but this was more in the self help papers . that one does seem to make sense though as it is bacteria that you want to kill .
sunlight and supplements such as vitamin d and a were listen also as good to use.

Diet can help. You have to reduce your fat intake. This will keep your oil glands from producing too much. When pores get caked up with oil, they trap bacteria and dirt. dirt = blackheads and bacteria = zits.

Find an astringent cleaner to clean your face.

Acutane or retina will work, but that's an extreme fix.

They almost make cosmetic lasers that kill the bacteria that form zits. It's painless and not very costly either.

A really good exfoliating soap scrub...and...use a face washer and towel..only once...use clean ones every time you scrub your face.........(if you dont, you are keeping germs on your towels and reputting it back onto your face)......always finish off your scub with cold water to close the pores again.....good luck...
