can anyone tell me about wicca?i'm really confused?

i read in an magazine about some wicca sort of thing and people possesing that special energy are called witches!i was rather anused but i really wanna know about this thing.in india people claiming to be wiccan for eg are ipsita rai basu and make up artist cory walia.can anyone please help me on this????????

I am a witch (not Wiccan) but it is similar. We are pretty much normal people but we have sharpened the ability to understand and work with nature. We know that everything is here for a reason and everything has energy associated with it. For example, I know what herbs can be used for different purposes, to treat illness, or even cure in some cases. Even what herbs will help a woman to become pregnant. And I know how gems and minerals effect the body, mind and spirit. Most of it is study. We do "spells" but I believe that spells are not much more than focused prayers. We know when the earth is strongest for different things. Many old wives tales are based on what might be called witchcraft, like when to plant and harvest, when the baby animals will be born. I guess what it comes down to is like I said understanding and working with the energy of the earth. Just be very careful, it is my understanding that witchcraft is forbidden in India.
