"When I was young and very slim, I seldom had a care,
My skin was clear, my eyes were bright and glossy was my hair,
I gorged myself with chocolate, my figure was fantastic,
But now I have expanded and am held in by elastic.
I am nearly always tired, now my children have left home,
And so I stand in sorrow, by the bread bin, all alone.
My doctor says my aches and pains have an underlying cause
And all of this is normal. It s called the menopause."

When I was young . . . I thought being cool was defined by the music I listened to, the clothes I wore, my hair and the people I hung around with. When I got older I was so happy to discover how wrong I was!

I wanted to stay young but hated to be young and did not want to grow old..Life seemed to be wanting to be where you are not and looking back with a nostalgia to where you were before.

My mother says I ran before I could walk.I was such a high spirited girl, I could hardly stand to rest. We had 3 recesses in school which saved my life. If I had had this once a day if you are lucky stuff I would have died.

We used to play outside all day long, running , playing jump rope, hopscotch, climbing trees, playing football. Now kids sit inside all day long watching TV and playing video games.

I thought I knew everything. Now that I am older I realize that I knew absolutely nothing.
