I am looking for a way to bring some humor to a party for a group of JWs. My mom has cancer and my dad was just reinstated 2 years ago. I know it will be an emotional night, so I'm trying to find a way to lighten it up.

Try a skit out of the Song of Solomon.
Have someone reinact as if the maiden were your mom and the shepherd boy were your dad.

I've seen this done at an anniversary party before, and it was truly cute. It was nicely done and it showed how they loved each other.

Sorry to hear about your mom though. Congrats on having your dad back. My brother is disfellowshipped right now, and I can't wait for him to come back. He's doing good though!

Let me know how it goes! Wish ya the best!

I like Brown's idea, or maybe a skit about Ruth and Boaz, and you can throw in some humerous things that may possibly have happened.

I too am sorry to hear about your mother's condition, and happy for your father. (Hopes and prayers that all goes well.)

My mother was recently reinstated after having been out for about 20 years.
