I agreed to go Prom with a guy. We are going as friends and he knows I don't like him. Now the guy that I do like wants to go with me and I really want to go with him or not with anyone at all. The more I think about going as friends with the other guy the more I cringe and looking back I shouldn't have said yes but he didn't really leave me a choice. So is there a way I can back out on this date and go with someone else or even alone?! Just a note we are all only sophmores so we still have 2 more Proms after this one and Prom is still 6 weeks away.

Kindness is always the best way to state the truth to your other date.

You are given a choice when someone asks you out. You can say no.
Were you afraid no one would ask you?????
Is that why you agreed to go with this guy???
You can tell him you now have changed your mind and don't want to go with a friend but would rather go with someone you are interested in.
It is pretty bad and chintzy to do this, but if you are willing to take the risk of not going at all, I guess this is your only option.
My question is, why did the other guy take so long to ask you??????
Have you given him an answer?????
If you have already committed to him, then the first guy needs to know now, you do not plan to go with him.
I hope this teaches you a lesson, you can't go around hurting people's feelings and playing them to suit your whims.
One day someone might do this to you and it won't feel good.
The first guy has already probably told people you are going together.
This isn't going to look good for you if you switch partners mid stream..
