There are a lot of girls I know that "went out" with boys in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. When they were "going out" they didn't go anywhere together outside of school. So how could that seriously be a boyfriend? They are so young to be having a boyfriend. I am 14 and have never had a boyfriend or kiss and when I look at people getting boyfriends in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade it makes me think I am stupid or weird. When did you have your first bf/gf?

Well the first time I said I had a boyfriend I think was Kindergarten. However I don't consider those as actual BF/GF relationships. Kids just say that to feel and act older. My first "real" BF wasn't until I was 16 and that was my first kiss as well. Don't think that you are stupid or weird!!! You will date when you are ready and don't push it you have plenty of time. I finally found the love of my life at 24 and have been together for 1 1/2 years and counting. Just wait and don't let others influence when you are ready.

You're 14, huh? May I suggest you enjoy your youth and not worry about what other people do or think?

Too often youth get wrapped up in what others do and say and think about them. Can't say I always follow my own advice here, but I try. And being in my mid 40s, I can look back at my past and see the dumb things I did trying to impress the "crowd" and be "one of the guys".

I had a couple girl friends though school, but it was the same as you described. We sat together in school and such, but that was it.

After school, I didn't date until I was in my 20s, and then I got married at 25 and will celebrate 21 years next month. And we were each others "first". Believe me, there is no hurry to "find someone" or "do it" or any of that other nonsense that the world at large tries to pump into us.

You have the rest of your life to find Mr Right. Never mind Mr Right-now. Enjoy life and have fun being you. If people don't accept you the way you are, remember that one day they will look at how you were and wish they had had the same attitude. I can't think of anyone that doesn't look back and think "I wish...."

Here are some words of wisdom (A rarity from me):

Dance like no one is watching

Sing like no one is listening

Love like you've never been hurt

Work like you don't need the money

Pray like you've already been answered

Life will hold no regrets.

Good luck

I don't think your stupid at all. I think you are one of many few who are very smart. I have a daughter who is 14 and she don't have a boyfriend either. Your too young to be worrying about that. I think I was in 10th or 11th grade till I had my first real boyfriend. Just stick with school for the time being. Boys are immature at that age wait till they get older. Some stay that way and you can weed them out better when they get older. Lol Don't worry about what your friends think or do, do what you want when you want. Your time will come and you will be glad. for the time being keep an eye on them and enjoy being 14.

I didn't have a boyfriend until I was in 10th grade!

I think the kids today are growing up too fast and are not concentrating on school and just being kids. But I blame the parents.

There is nothing wrong with you. When you find the right one it will happen -- and it won't be while your 14!

im 24 and i had my first boyfriend only last year. hmm. it seemed that you have to enjoy your teen years fella! you should take every step in your life, not to leap to another level. enjoy yourself with friends and family first before going in, in a relationship.
