Since others have answered your question, I'd like to go off on a tangent. "Cardio-thoracic" reminds me of a movie Alec Baldwin starred in (he was a cardio-thoracic surgeon). If I remember correctly, he'd come under fire by the medical board because of some of his controversial practices. During their questioning (of him), true to his character's arrogance, he said, "Do I have a God Complex? ... I AM God." Sacrilegiousness aside, that was a hell of a line!

Thorasic refers to the chest.

I believe you mean cardio thoracic, which refers to the heart and chest area.
