I am an Arabic linguist but have a previous cervical injury that I incurred while in the Army Reserves which resulted in some plates and pins in my neck. That was 2 years ago and I am completely better(except for the hardware).

If you can were your gear and perform on a PT test, Hell ya. You Arabic translators are like gold to the military now. You can write your own ticket and get unreal bonuses. Personally, if I were you I would check into being a civilian contracted linguist for the DOD. You would be surrounded by troops at all times and get five times the money. 180,000 a year is a lot of money.

My question is why don't you and the other Arabic speakers form a translating company and get contracts with the Department of Defense?

As you know, contractors get more money and are under fewer restrictions than people in uniforms. Get smart! Follow the examples of Halliburton and Black Water and get rich.
