Glasses are neither nerdy nor "unpretty." I wear mine by choice. I also have contact lenses. But if you have an eye infection, or for any reason a doctor has told you not to use your contact lenses, DON'T use them. Doctors are doctors for a reason, and they give treatment advice for a reason. If s/he prescribed medicine, use it all, and in the way it was prescribed, and don't use the lenses until s/he says it's okay. In case you haven't noticed, your eyes are extremely fragile, and you only get two to last you your entire lifetime. You don't want to lose them because you have some hangup about glasses that makes you feel like you can't wear them for a few months.

Believe me: It's OK to wear glasses.
I went through the exact same thing in middle and high school. In 7th grade I was told I was farsighted enough I had to get glasses. I had them for about a year until I convinced my parents that I NEEDED contacts, as I now had braces as well and didn't want to look what I thought would be nerdy or ugly.
Contacts turned out to be more of a curse than a blessing. Of course, it was practically a miracle to be able to look through nothing and yet see everything myself. Still, they irritated my eyes constantly. I could only last the 6 hours of school before I had was able to run home and whip them out as quickly as possible.
After almost a year I decided to face the facts: I needed glasses, not contacts. I got a new, more fashionable pair that matched my face type better. Late in 9th grade I also got my braces off. And, around the same time, a lot of my most fashionable friends began to get glasses as well. At first, as with everyone, they looked a little awkward, but like everything, the "glasses look" grows on you, and with the right pair, anyone can look suave, sophisticated, or sexy.
I would definitely take the doctor's advice. If not, you could really damage your eyes, and then even glasses wouldn't help. I advise buying a new pair that's high quality and matches your facial type. Ask people who don't know you what they think of the new glasses, because all your friends will need a month or two to get used to it, just as you will, and won't be able to give a good opinion on how they really look on you.
When it comes down to it, glasses are just as much a miracle as contacts, and if some people's eyes can't handle the contacts, then that's that. Therefore, I truly hope you can learn to love glasses as I have, and be confidant in wearing them.
PS- If you still REALLY want to wear the contacts forever onwards, then you should most certainly take the doctor's advice. In the long run, it'll work out much better for you and your eyes. And when the virus is gone, you can put your contacts back on like nothing happened.
Good luck!

It's better to look like nerd instead of not seeing yourself like nerd. Because one of my friends used contact lenses. He had a nightmare wherein he could no longer recover from it. A particle entered his eye and got infected. As a result, he had to rush to the hospital for an eye surgery. Now, he has an artificial cross eyed.... left eye. And still his right eye has been aggravated already. It seems to me that the right eye's also affected.
So as to make your eyesight return to its normal reading, better stay only for 2-3 hours in your computer. Also, check on the computer's brightness. Then, eat the right kind of food, especially the green leafy vegetables. I am sure, your eyes can still be corrected.
Have a nice day and GOD BLESS.

It is best to follow what the doctor says, rather than to run an eye infection, or something worse. It is your call, make the right decision, and avoid future problems.

Is it going to matter what you look like in the mirror if you go blind? Just a thought.
