After some extensive research, i have decided the Specialized Rockhopper 2006 is the bike for me.

However, i cant devide on the colour. It comes in two: metallic silver or satin blue (which appears to have a metallic sheen).

Which colour shall i go for? Pics are below. Note the blue isnt as "solid" as shown in the below picture, it is more metallic/reflective.

Thanks for your help!

go for the silver, it hides the scratches better than the blue

by the way, good choice on the bike!

The silver is classier but also plainer. It possibly looks the money a little more, but that's hard to tell from the photos - the blue probably would too because the build quality will be obvious.

If I were feeling daring, I'd go blue just to be different.

Of course, you're asking a 50/50 question here, so you're going to get a divided response and in the end, have to go with your own instincts anyway.

Nice choice of bike, by the way! Very jealous!

They are both great looking bike colours!

Good bike choice too.

At first glance I would go for the blue, just because I like blue better, but on the long and mid term the silver will give you a better result. The paint is more forgiving, and if you attach anything to it, it will look good regardless of its colour, not so with the blue.

Congrats on your Specialized.

Here's a silly question to help you decide... what kind of cycling jersey/gear/whatever do you wear?? Would blue clash?

I personally like the blue, but silver goes with just about anything you can think of. Plus, like mentioned above, it will probably hide and scratches or dings you get more easily.

I like them both, I think I would choose the silver though.

i say get the silver. it matches the components better and is easier to match with any cycling clothes you wear. the blue just seems a bit too deep. but thats just my opinion.
