Oddly enough, and in spite of all the crap that I blame them for, I think some part of me does indeed love the godders -- in the same way that you just can't help loving little children who destroy things because they haven't learned how to behave properly. Yes, of course you love them -- because if you didn't, you'd surely kill them -- but you hope like heck that they get past this phase soon!

As an atheist I feel Christians are at best wasting lots of time and resources on meaningless activities. At worst they are narrow minded, take political stances that have a negative impact on society, and prevent progress by being stick in the past.

While I don't believe Jesus was supernatural and I'm not even convinced he was a real person, I think it would be a good thing if many so-called Christians would adopt certain components of his philosophy, such as:

Pacifism

Liberalism (emphasis on forgiving and helping instead of controlling and punishing)

Progressivism (favoring the poor)

That's why I cringe everytime I hear someone described as a "conservative Christian". I don't think there's any such thing!

My love is a pretty precious commodity as far as I'm concerned and I don't distribute it promiscuously. "Communities" are not entitled to anyone's love for the sake of it and I no more love the Christian community than I do the atheist community. I'm perfecty happy with the fact that I have lots of good friends of different faiths whom I love and respect for themselves, not just because I can't discriminate who I want to love. I'm pleased there's a fun community on here, from all sides, and I really enjoy the company and communication. But do I feel about any of you in the same way I feel about my beloved, beloved children? Do any of YOU feel about me the same way you feel about your children? If the answer is yes you should be ashamed.

Yes.

The overwhelming majority of Christians honestly love all men. We hate sin, but love the sinners. Being people, some of us are still working on it. It's sometimes a little more difficult with those who spew irrational hatred at me, but I just remember they're not my enemy. They are my cousins - descended from a common grandfather, Noah.

Those who've been tricked away from the unconditional love, forgiveness, and acceptance of God, are the victims. The demons who deceive my fellow men - they're the enemy.

Now, can athiests honestly love Christians? (Pesonally, I don't think there are any real athiests, but that's a different question.) I've encountered a few folks in rebellion against God who do live a love for their fellow men - not many, but I have met a few. So yes, it is at least possible.

I try to love everyone. I get annoyed, I get frustrated by ignorance and stupidity, but that doesn't mean I hate the person. (If I did my sweety would have been out the door a long time ago! hee hee) Just because another person is intolerant or hateful doesn't mean I have to be. And yes, I am an atheist. Oh, and that includes Muslims, Hindus, Pagan, Satanists, ect.

I don't use the word "Athiest" for myself as a rule of thumb, but since I don't bother with the whole deity thing....

Anyhow.... No.
Why would I want to? I don't "love" christians any more than I "love" slugs ... and I rather find it amusing to sprinkle the proverbial salt on the christians too.

For the most part they are completely beyond reason, beyond any use whatsoever besides mocking them for my own amusement. I would quite contentedly kill a family of christians just to pile their bodies up to stand on in order to get something off the top of a bookshelf... that is how low and generally worthless they are to me.

Then again, the same is also true of muslims... and chavs.... and most americans... and french.... and old people..... and S*ny employees.... and all kinds of other filthy human meatbags. I'm not fond of humanity.... though old, christian, american, ill-spoken S*ny employees are the sorts I would kill on sight irrespective of the law.

Do you think if we didn't love Christians we would spend so much time on here trying to educate them. Its sad seeing people trapped in a cult. At least with Santa Claus believers we know they usually grow out of it.

I can love individual Christians, but I'm not so sure about the Christian community.

if you claim yourself as a Christian than yes.

Jesus said "love your enemy, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despisetefully use you and presecute you" Mat 44:43

I'm not saying atheists is Christian enemy - but the bottom line is a Christian should love everybody.

So if hate or even disriminate an atheist, or anyone else, shame on you if u called yourself a Christian.

I do love individuals regardless of their faith: Christians, Muslims, Wiccas, Buddhists, agnostics, animists etc. etc.
But loving communities of people is beyond me. Too abstract.
