Overall violence is down. We haven't had a shot fired at us for weeks, now.
Bombings are down.
EJK's are down, although I will admit that we have had two in the last 5 days which is more of an anomoly than anything else.
Fewer IED's have been found, set, or exploded.
People are in the streets, kids are playing and going to school, and there are people opening shops and going to work.
It's working.
EDIT:
Mr. foxhorn, I would encourage you to do some research before being flipant in your replies. It's better to sit quietly and have people think you're a fool that open your mouth and remove all doubt.

It is too early to tell. The so called surge coincides with a drop in in violence that has been seen every year at this time since the occupation began. Basically the first 3 months of the year have always been quite for the insurgents and then after this they generally resume normal business hours. Wait until April before we evaluate the surge.
Fox, CNN, the BBC etc aren't running these stories in the link below!

All my buddies over there are saying they really appreciate the extra help...they're not seeing as many car bombs and more importantly the Iraqi Army is making some good progress towards being on their own

sometimes it takes times to get the answer to a big problem that you want a solution and basically people got no patience and want an immediate solution to the problem that really, really takes time to solve, anyway we should be giving credit to the people that at the very least they are trying to solve a problem that is there since time immemorial, it is a lot commendable that just sitting down and not doing anything and just talk, talk and talk and making noise.

The 'SURGE" is old fashion "search&destroy" with a modern twist and it's working.
The terrorists and insurgents are doing the "cut & run",out of Bagdad and out of Iraq.
