I agree totally. If you need to be asking this you have no business breeding this dog. You only breed to better the breed as a whole. This would mean you bought the best female available in the world and are breeding it to something even better. Otherwise it is very wrong. Enough mediocre dogs living now. Are you able to take every one you sell back in and take care of it for life. A reputable breeder will. You need to leave breeding for professionals, you obviously have no idea what you are doing. Hopefully some day there will be some high hoops to jump through on the law books before people are allowed to decide on their own how many dogs are going to be put to death every year.

whew that other person really let into you. However, all dogs, regardless of breed should not be bread until the age of 2 or their 3rd time in heat. This is because the body has not developed enough yet, much like a young girl, yes they may be able to conceive at age 12, but the body is not ready. However, without cussing etc. Please do not breed the dog if you have no idea what you are doing and leave it to the professional breeders. I know you paid big bucks for the dog and want to get your money back, but really, let the professionals do it.

What happen to you verminkiller you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Love how these people yell and have no clue what they are yelling about..
The female should be two years old before you breed her. Only after both female and male have clear bill of health from the vet.
Also beware when people say they are a vet or a vet tech. You have to use your own judgment on weather they are or not who they say. Usually you can tell by their wordings.

I breed the chinese shar-pei have been for many many yrs. its 2yrs so all nessisary health tests can be done, but can i ask a question and please dont get offended but are you sure this is what you want to do? breeding shar-pei can be a very expensive adventure. also do you know fully about the bloodlines of your dogs? you wouldnt want to breed and pass on potentially fatal genetic problems would you?(swollen hock/shar-pei fever etc) some shar-pei pups need eyes tacked by 3wks of age , they also need to be checked weekly till 8wks of age to make sure they dont need another eye tacking or there first. and not just shar-pei but puppies in general can cost a fortune!! medical epensive of mom and possibly pups, eye tacking,vaccinations,micro-chipping,proper food, finding them proper homes etc there is so much work involved. just keep this in mind before actually breeding its alot hard and mentally stressful than most people think!.

if you are going to breed her. she should be at least 2 years old. make sure that any faults that she has are not the same as the male you breed to. and also make sure that they are not closely realted. it is one week in, one week ready to breed and one oweek going out of season
