My sis used lamisil last year and it worked for her, but isn't lamisil bad for you? Like bad for your kidneys and stuff?

Hi there. I work for a large insurance company in the pharmacy department so I can give you some advice on this. Lamisil is very effective at treating nail fungus. Some people do have side effects but they are rare and all drugs run the risk of side effects. Your doctor would be able to advise you on any possible risk but I can assure you that risk is minimal. lamisil works from within your body to fight the fungal infection from the inside. Topical creams and soaking solutions tend to not work because they do not penetrate to the root of the infection. Lamisil will take approximately 6 weeks to cure fungus in fingernails and 3 months for toenails. I had nail fungus and even though Lamisil isn't cheap by all means, it works. Of course the best person to ask is your doctor.

Hi
Unfortunately ignoring the fungal condition will not make it go away - as the fungus is a living organsim it will multiply, worsen and possibly infect other toenails or fingernails if left untreated.

Oral tablets and some medication can be effective but can have a detrimental effect on your health. Natural remedies are effective but most sufferers do not follow a daily/weekly routine and so cannot seem to control the fungal infection and resign themselves to the possibility that they will never be totally fungus free.

My advice to you is allocate the next 6 months to riding yourself of the fungus from both the ouside using a natural remedy such as vinegar - whilst concentrating on your diet and trying to rid yourself of the yeast and fungal creating substances in your body.

Nail fungus is very difficult to treat because drugs take a lot of time to reach to nails It may take years. You should use Fluconazole tab once a week and miconazole drops on nails.

You could try soaking in hot (hot as ou can stand) water with salt in it.

Also plain good old HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. Just pour the peroxide into the cap and pour right over the infected toes, it doesn't sting!!!

I would recommend seeing your dr about this. They may prescribe something like Sporanox to help the problem. If you can't afford the script ask if they have samples so that you can take home to start using them.
