Alright I got into some trouble more then recently. My Sgt. Brought things up from 2 to 3 months ago then he wrote me up. Is there a limit on how far back you can go? Can anyone give me a link if there is. I've been looking and can't find anything in FM 6-22 or 22-100. Ok, thanks and have a good day. kat

This applies to USA...I don't know what the time limit is if any, but I do know this...I used to know a First Sergeant that the Army didn't write up for adultery until 8-9 months later when he committed another UCMJ violation. And his adultery was flagrant - taking his girlfriend to an Army ball and introducing her to everyone as such, among other things.

The truth of the matter is you should be counseled every month without missing a month here or there. It is the SGT's fault for not doing this. He can do what you are saying only because you are not asking him to counsel you every month. That is how he is piling them up on you. Sounds like he is not a very good leader. By not doing it by regulation ( it is in the 22-100) he makes you look like a poor soldier. You should know that he should be doing this every month and if he isn't you should ask him to do so.

According to the Law of limitation in India , the limitation is for a period of 3 years from the date on which the claim is repudiated or the cause of action arose and for consumer disputes it is 2 years.

For counseling the statute of limitations is your ETS date. For something like a courts martial there isn't one. Don't worry about a counseling statement. It will never leave your unit. Just don't do the same thing again.

I don't know about the military but any job I've had, the time period is always a year. Every year they reset your tardies, absenses, and counsellings....
