When we're marching
We exit from the German gate
My black-brown girl, you stay at home.
Therefore my girl, wave, wave, wave!
Under a green linden tree,
A little finch sits
Finch, finch, finch, keep singing: Girl wave!

Note: in spite of what someone else said, online translators are bad - they're okay if all you want it a very rough idea what a text might be about, but they usually produce gibberish, especially with "unusual" texts, such as songs, and especially songs as this one, which involves some old-fashioned words and spellings. Don't rely on them.

(The above is an actual translation done by a person who speaks both languages, btw. :) )

I'm German and I think that Ms S's answer is perfect. Her translation hits right on the mark, and her remarks on online translators do the same.

Did you know that Google has an automatic Translation machine from German to English? Try typing your lyrics into that (link provided below) for a translation.
