I was just watching an old ESPN programme and they rated him very highly, when i started thinking of some greats in my own mind i would struggle to get him in my top ten, how about you.

Smitty - i was thinking along the same lines as you with most of your top picks, but here are a few more that i would maybe have ahead of Brown. Benny Leonard, Joe Gans, Barney Ross and maybe even Tony Canzoneri.
I hadnt really ever thought about how many great great Lightweights there were, it seems crazy that Brown might not make my top ten.

Never got the recognition he deserved, 11 title defenses ranks him among the best lightweights of all time, to bad he ran into Carlos Ortiz at the end of his career instead of at the beginning, it would have been interesting.
