Some doctrines were not fully developed until well after the apostolic age. Examples: the Holy Trinity, Christ's divinity, etc. There is also a possibility that some Christian doctrines may have to be reexamined if the theory of evolution becomes an accepted fact. Please explain your answer.

Those who said revelation stopped; do you mean God stopped talking to his Church? Jesus said, I will be with you till the end of the age. Doesn't that mean he continues to guide his Church?

Will not the doctrine of original sin be questioned if the evolution theory is accepted? The creation story will also be questioned.

There are some who believe that when the last period was placed in the bible that God stopped communicating with us. I doubt this. God 's revelation can not be stopped by the Bible or any thing else. The Holy Spirit of Jesus lives with us and continues to communicate with us.

Divine revelation did stop after the apostolic age - ie the Bible as God's word was complete. That doesn't mean that God can't communicate with people in other ways - eg through visions and dreams and stuff, but that is a secondary way of communicating, and the Bible contains all we need to know about God and his relationship with us. The doctrines which were 'developed' later are definitely there in the Bible, they just aren't defined in the same way as they have been since. All those doctrines do is to explain and clarify what's in the Bible. There's no new revelation involved.
There aren't any major doctrines that would have to be re-examined as a result of evolution. Many Christians believe in evolution today, and it has no necessary impact on the doctrines of the Bible.

I don't believe so. God continues to speak to people by way of revelation. If hypothetically Christian doctrines had to be re-examined for the reason you say. I dont believe that us christians would change what we believe, because we know that the bible is the inspired word of God and we know that God's word stands the test of time. I dont believe that we would accept the theory as a fact when we know for a fact that it is not true. There is not enough substantial evidence to ever prove evolution, and there never will be. I dont think that it would become a worldwide accepted fact anyway because just like you cant make everybody believe in God you cant make everybody believe in evolution.

God has given us everything that we need to know in his word. Any revelation is understanding, not anything new. the bible is not to be added to nor taken away from. These doctrines that you mentioned are in the Bible and not the creation of man. Evolution will never be acceptable to clergy that are loyal to the word of God. Pure Biblical doctrine cannot be changed because it is God's truth, which is eternal.

God does not contradict himself from one revelation to another. He does not foretell a Messiah then say "oh actually you can do it on your own" or he doesn't say "Christ was a mere moral teacher" then say he was divine. The divinity of Christ was always established, because in Isaiah 9:6 Christ is called "Mighty God". Now either Christ is indeed God, which does not mean 1+1 = 1. It is the same as if to say a man is sad and tired; it does not establish TWO men, it could merely be two attributes expressed through one man.
But anyway, through the Holy Spirit we can receive new understanding. The Word of God is living and active; it is a complete document but its meanings can evolve as our own understandings evolve.

Divine revelation did not stop after the apostolic age. The Bible is indeed a book of divine revelation but there is one after it - the Quran. And Muhammad is the last prophet. People needed one final warning from God and thus Muhammad was chosen after Jesus to finally try to bring people to worship One God and quit their polytheistic ways.

Ya know I am in a church that claims there is a second apostolic age right now, I am very confused about this whole doctrine, I am going to leave this church when my hubby get sback from iraq because it all sounds fishy to me. My pastor calls himself a Pastor/prophet or Apostolic leader. I feel God leading me away from the church, so I am leaving.

no ,
the revelation did not stop . only most people stopped believing that it did not . and some other people could not talk about it if it happened to them , because most likely , they will get killed !
all religions developed ( re-created ), there is no one religion that is the same as it was in the life of the founder or master ( mosses - Jesus - Muhammad ).
and every religion found the right way for it to get the needed development by the book , without breaking any laws. or it will get destroyed instead .
if you , me , or any other believer want to experience divine revelation , just ask for it , ask god , don't give him any names like Allah or Jesus or Yahweh , just ask him by the name lord or god . because he got no known names to us . only creatures have names , not the creator .
try it and good luck !

putting aside that khomeini become a nutjob no person gained revelation after the prophet(pbuh) NOR "notion" and whoever declare in any different case is erroneous, the 12 imams are only human beings that have been in no way greater then any prophet! @FTL: do no longer attempt to alter the be conscious thinking that u r fooling every person cz notion advise wahi, use google notion: ??? wahi @FTL: shall we see what notion potential: ilaham: a divine effect straight away and on the instant exerted upon the concepts or soul. b. the divine high quality of the writings or words of a individual so motivated. wahi: a-an occasion of such communique or disclosure. b- God's disclosure of Himself and His will to His creatures. u mentioned they have been given notion from Allah !!! returned a similar element yet u're employing a diverse be conscious for a similar which potential just to mitigate the problem! i hate to brake it to u yet in the two procedures its incorrect and no person have been given divine notion after the prophet(pbuh),era!
