I had an affair with a man a year ago. He kept records of our conversations. So he has proof of the affair. He wants to tell my husband and daughter. It's my own wrongdoing... But I am being constantly harassed. Should I call the police? And one more thing he's not in the USA but a small island called Taiwan. Will they extradite him, or can the taiwan officials arrest him? PLEASE HELP ME

You have no hope of getting anything done legally against this man who is not in the Country. If you pay him, what will stop him from asking for more money later.

If you go to the authorities your husband will find out. Your best bet (although it will not be easy) is to come clean with your husband. It is going to sound a lot better coming from you than the other man.

You are in the USA?
How is he harassing you from a different country?
Change your phone number and your email account and that should do the trick.
Here in Canada I would investigate and if the charge of criminal harassment applied, I would put out a warrant for his arrest and if he came to Canada he could be arrested. There is zero chances that they would extradite for something like this, even if the US and Taiwan have an extradition treaty. They only extradite for major things like murder.

Criminal harassment in Canada only applies if you reasonably fear for your safety. You can't be really afraid of someone in a different country. Sounds like you are more annoyed and afraid that he might actually contact your family and tell them what you did, not because he will hurt you.
You don't give details but is he asking for $3000 or he will tell your family? I think extortion only applies if he is threatening to physcally harm you if you won't pay him. Why don't you just come clean with your husband and beat him to the punch.

You could contact the police and they might contact Taiwan officials to ask he to stop contacting you. It is worth a try anway.

This is a tough one, I feel for you. Going to the police will only make your mistake public to your daughter and husband. I recommend, even though it will be very difficult, to tell your family, than get an attorney to help you with any further advice, If your family hears it from someone else first it will make things a WHOLE lot worse. Be honest with them. Than you can seek further legal help as an united front. (Hopefully) Good luck!

Unfortunately you are hosed. I would come clean with the family as it's the only weapon he has, diffuse it. You cannot get any legal recourse from here to there.
