I a browsed website, inmate penpals or something and this guy got 20 years for punching cops. Cops beat people up every day (alot of times people die), funny.

Anybody that assaults an armed police officer is a particular threat to unarmed civilians therefor they need to put away for a long, long time.

first of all, I noticeably doubt your pal "beat up a cop". If that actual occurred and the guy grow to be arrested the bail could be fairly extreme. Even assaulting an officer, that's certainly a legal in each and every state, is uncommon. The minimum sentence for a legal is "a three hundred and sixty 5 days and an afternoon". the unquestionably sentence could count on the quantity of harm performed, the point, and so on. The arresting officer could write a checklist on what occurred. The county criminal expert could examine the checklist and are available to a decision what costs to report, that ought to truthfully comprise disorderly habit, which next to "attack IV" isn't something. lacking a court docket date could have led to a warrant right this moment and a bail of 0.

Well the individual in question probably had an extensive criminal record to get that kind of sentence. As for cops beating people eveyday- do you even know what you are talking about? Have you ever been around an officer or went to ride along with one? If not then where do you get your information-television? News is there for that purpose-NEWS, and it will always be reported on when a police officer does something stupid b/c it is something to talk about-a conspiracy.

Assaulting a Police Officer is a more serious offense than assaulting a citizen.
Police Officers have to put themselves in the middle of danger and take chances with their safety to protect every one else. Cops do not beat up people every day. That is excessive force and a criminal offense against the officer.
Murder of a Police Officer is also an automatic qualification for the death penalty. Officers are there as mediators and to keep the peace, they shouldn't be the focus of an attack.

Gee, the guy was arrested for something wasn't he? Maybe he is in jail for the robbery or the rape he committed to be arrested. The assault police and the resist arrest just added to his time. There are not "alot" of people who die who are "beat up " by the police, that is a ridiculous statement.

I saw a video of a man assaulting a female police officer right in front of his daughter who was maybe 7 years old. In the video, he said "I can't go back to jail," so he obviously had a previous record (I don't know of what). He did go back to jail, for 60 years, and no matter what he did before that, I think he deserves every minute of it.
It just shows you can win a fight with a cop, but they'll always win the war. lol

Because your question is made out of half fact and confusion. When police officers beat people media often catches the end of what was a long struggle with someone.

So a guy told you he caught 20 for punching cops? Now research it and find out the real story. If he caught that much time, it a) was more than just punching cops, b) was in addition to the other felony charges involved and c) wasn't his first rodeo.
Have a nice day.

He's in there that long because there was more to it than just assaulting a police officer. Remember...criminals always..ALWAYS..soften their role in whatever crime they committed. You may get them to admit they did the crime but they'll always leave certain elements out of the stroy that makes them appear guiltier (is there such a word?) than they are portraying to you.

It's probably because they are an officer of the law and law abiding citizens must have respect for them. There is a law against assaulting a Police Officer.
