Well it could mean two things, one in the innocent interpretation - travel, approaching travel or change, and or two; sex, think about the similarity of the turtle head to parts of the male body, and then combine that with water which turtles live in, which always means sex...

SenoritaFartsALot here to answer the question at hand! Here is some information I have researched myself:
The turtle seen in a dream indicates an unusual improvement. This would be a positive omen. Turtles in a negative aspect means fear of facing responsibility or reality. However, a turtle can represent long life because turtles live a long time. They also have quiet strength.
I only dream about Farts...and they don't live long like turtles. So I think you are a lucky person! SenoritaFartsAlot signing off!

My dear Kaoru, please take time to understand some things about dreams.
1. You are the best interpreter of your dreams. There is someone I know who can give you the absolute meaning of your dream, without any mistake whatsoever. But he is more interested in you becoming a master of the art rather than a perpetual student; so he would only encourage you to know more instead of telling you the meaning.
2. Dreams come in symbols whose meaning change from person to person, and over time in the same person. Your turtles may mean a different thing say ten years from now.
3. Even when you don't get the gist of a dream, you can still get the meaning if you pay attention to other dreams and everything around you. Your dream may be repackaged in a simpler manner for you, or the meaning may appear to come 'out of the blues' from a friend, family or anyone or thing around you.
4. You can improve your dream-ability by keeping a journal of your dreams and what you think the interpretations are. Make the effort to write them down when they are fresh, even in the middle of the night. You lose some when you wait till morning. You will be amazed at what you find when you go over your journal at the end of the month or quarter.
Dreams are very important in our spiritual unfoldment. So, start dreaming and start writing.

OK I got two books.
One says: these strange creatures are a symbol of frustrated ambition due to hidden hostility; if you persevere, you may dispel the opposition; however, if, after a reasonable time, the obstacle remains, you should reassess the position with an eye to altering your aim or your approach to it.
Second one: To dream....
Of turtles: opportunity for advancement will come to you.
Buying turtles: joy w/out profit.
Cooking turtles: wealth and influence.
Catching a sea turtle: you have secret enemies.
Drinking bouillon made from sea turtle: long life and success. (ill, that's nasty)
the color green: 1. good fortune in love affairs 2. pertains to travel or news from a distance

These animals hold interesting symbolism. The ideas that they convey are those of steadfastness and caution. They move and change very slowly, and in your dream about them, you may be expressing some of your reluctance to forge ahead. The turtles have strong protective shells, which may also be symbolic of your defense mechanisms or real life protection with which you have surrounded yourself.

I don't know anything about it, but I've found this link:
http://members.fortunecity.com/dashiel/dream5.html
It states:These animals hold interesting symbolism. Most people loved turtles in childhood and some do in adulthood.

I love turtles......
To answer your ???.....
"Turtle" pertains to a fear of facing up to responsibility or coming to terms with reality. This symbol may also indicate a tendency to know when to keep one's nose out of another's business.
It helps to know what kind of turtle you are dreaming about. You can apply the meanings to whatever the situation is in your life.
