No, it´s dangerous, it will destroy your enamel because it is way too abrasive. You may not see that in a day, but if you use that everyday you will see in a time you´ll have some issues. If you do that on regular basis you could have sensitivity problems, and cavities. Now, there are some toothpastes that works similar but avoids that problem, for example crest whitening expressions.
You should try a professional whitening, that way your teeth will be taken care of properly and you´ll see great results.
Those " home solutions" often gets to our practice with mayor pain.
Believe me, you wouldn´t want that...

Yes, it is ok to brush your teeth with baking soda. I used to do it for a while as a kid because the toothpaste at the time wasn't helping.

As for toothpaste I now use AquaFresh and that seems to help a lot.

But check with your dentist to see what they recommend.

yes it is safe too brush your teeth with bicarb,but why would you, when you can buy toothpaste with bicarb in it. if you prefer too make your own, go to the "mythbusters web site" they have a basic recipe for tooth paste and mouth wash.
i have dentures so i always wake with a smile and fresh breathe.

No not pure baking soda it is abrasive I used to use it when I cleaned apartments its great for scrubbing sinks and tubs and is cheaper than comet.
