I'm sure they will if you still have the receipt and if the boxes are unopened, in date and therefore in re-saleable condition - just explain that your little dears have turned their noses up at this supposedly superior food and would much prefer their usual tinnies or whatever!

We have a similar problem - well, let me just say that I wear a fringe to hide the word, "mug", written across my forehead! Pounds and pounds and pounds wasted on cat toys - and you CAN'T take those back, because by the time you realise that they have ceased to be a five minutes (what do I mean five minutes, more like one minute!) wonder - well, they've been played with...

Our most expensive mistake? An enormous ( 1 and a half feet tall!) multi-coloured basketwork fish... Cost us at least 8 quid... I blush now when I think of it!

Nowadays they just get screwed up balls of paper and empty cardboard boxes and are as happy as Larry (Question - who on earth was Larry?).

Yes, if you have the receipt. Most cat food companies have a money back guarantee on the bag too, just return the unused portion of the open bag to the store with receipt for a full refund.

What brand of food did you buy?

You should consider buying another brand of high quality food. Some companies have sample bags you can buy for like $2. I got a sample of by Nature and my cat was eating it like treats. I think she caught on that it's cat food now, but she still loves to gobble it up. I'll definitly buy a bag of that for her once her other nutritious food is gone.

I cant see why not. They should give you a refund, if the box is unopened then they should be fine with it and just explain to them that your cat doesnt like this type of food and swap it for something else. If you just want a refund then they may give you a credit note not cash so be careful.

Hope this helps :-)

Most likely.

When I was putting my kibble junkies through rehab (trying to get them to eat good quality canned food), I spent a ton of money buying different brands and flavors. I'd think I had found one that Poppy would eat (you would not believe how picky this girl is), so I'd buy more.

Then she'd turn her nose up at it.

I had to return something like $30 worth one time!

If they won't take it back for some reason - which I can't imagine why if you have your receipt, it hasn't been too long and you haven't opened them - you could always try selling them, like on craigslist or ebay.

I just sold a container of Archetype Burgers on ebay because Miss Thing didn't like them. I couldn't return them because they'd been opened and one used.

I doubt they will give you a refund unless there was a problem with the food if you don't want the food why not pass it on to a friend or neighbour with a cat who may like the food

Oof i had a cat like this - she would only eat dry cat food and turned her nose up at everything else including tuna - go figure!

Call the pet store and ask them - if the boxes are intact they should give you refund, especially if you have your receipt.

You need to get the cat to the vet ASAP or it will die! If it is has a urinary blockage like you think, it can be fatal. Why on earth do you even have a pet if you cannot take care of it? You and your dad can be fined for animal abuse for not taking a suffering pet to the vet. If your dad is not going to pay for it, all you can do is call the humane society and have them take the cat from you and hopefully treat him and find him a home with responsible owners who actually care about him and are not going to abuse him and let him die! Wish I knew where you lived so I could report your dad myself.

It depends on the pet shop - all you can do is ask. They may offer to swap it for a cheaper brand that the descerning feline will eat.

I quite often take things back to our petshop when they don't suit my dogs and they are very understanding.

you can ask the pet store if they will take the unused bags. you can donate the used bag to an animal shelter or even if you want donate the unused bags also if the petstore won't give you a refund.

Its difficult to introduce new food into anyone's diet...pets get sick from that sort of thing. as for the pet shops policies, are you seriously asking us? you have to call the shop and ask for a manager, not us. You didnt even mention the name of the store!
