The games I bought a few years ago needed no more than 32Mb of memory, now I notice that the system requirements of new games ask for 256Mb or even 512Mb of memory. Why on earth do they need so much?

cuz back then the games were not designed with high end softwares which needed only very basic graphic cards and little memory. Nowadays games are so advanced u can actually see the pores on a characters face and with all that visual effect and the large amount of space needed for the game to run, there is no way u can run that game on just 32 mb...minimum ram requirements are 512 for most games but for better performances 1gb would be essential.
