No one knows, in fact, we don't even know conclusively the grave of Christ. The grave of Christ has always been under debate. Most of the sites from Bible days were lost because the Jewish people were dispersed throughout the world after the war with the Romans and the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. In the 300's Constantine took his mother to Israel and she took on the task of naming the Biblical sites. Very few of them have any substantial proof at all.

Mary ascended into heaven therefore her body does not exist on earth and was never buried.

according to catholic dogma, Mary was assumed into heaven. So basically she never died and was brought, body and soul, into heaven.

There is no reason or purpose or anything to be gained by knowing this.

It is an infallible dogma that Our Lady was assumed body and soul into heaven. Thus, like Jesus, she is in heaven in her glorified human body, not just her soul. This is a foretaste of what we shall all share one day (please God) when our bodies shall rise from their graves and be reunited with our souls in Heaven.

She did not "ascend" as Jesus ascended, of His own power and volition, but was "assumed", taken up by God.
