They are actually one religion. In other words, they are different stages of one progressive Revelation of God to humankind.

you already know incorrect. The Quran has been replaced. it is in the ahadith a pair of goat eating a verse, verses lost with men killed in conflict. Uthman burned rival copies of the Quran and Muhammad allowed for version readings, which nevertheless exist. Sunni and Shia have differing variations additionally. i've got study that as quickly as getting into Saudi Arabia, Quran's are checked and those that are diffeent from the single prevalent there are confiscated. So, you are able to desire to examine the fact and it is no longer Islam. The Bible warned us approximately Islam from the beginning up. It says in Genesis that Ishmael could be a wild guy, his hand against all men's palms. it is the line for Muhammad and Islam. The Bible warns of fake prophets, fake teachings. It tells to attempt a spirit before believing it, some thing that Muhammad in no way did! The Bible says that for the time of the tip situations, the followers of the Antichrist and his faith will behead people. Muslims are people who try this. one million John 2:22, "who's a liar yet he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? he's antichrist, that denieth the father and the Son." Islam denies the father and The Son!

I don't think so ,
there is a big difference between them, every one was "made" to serve a different goal in different circumstances.
Islam's main goal was to unite the Arab tribes into one big kingdom or state , whatever that takes .
Christianity's main goal was salvation , freedom .
if you mean believing in one god and commanding the followers to be kind to each other .. etc , then you are right.
but that's it. because the followers , long after the death of the masters , re-created the religion !
they re-wrote the holy books and even re-wrote history .
so , I don't think Islam and Christianity are twins , I think all the followers of the two religions are !

There may be a lot of common history between Muslims and Christians, but looking at it now, the similarities aren't so clear.
If you want similarities, observe and compare the lifestyle and beliefs of Muslims and Orthodox Jews.
Yes, yes, I know about the conflict between these two people right now, but if you were to put that aside, I find the two to be disconcertingly similar.

I agree with you. The "two" religions are just two phases in the endless one religion of God, unfolded over time.
The spiritual teachings of the Qur'an and Bible are identical. It is the calendar (Gregorian/Hejira), the Prophets Jesus and Muhammad (pbu them), the laws, the day of worship (Sunday/Friday), etc... these outer things are different, but the spiritual teachings are exactly the same.
Such so-called "different" religions are just one, and God sends His Messengers to mankind as mankind needs them. With each Messenger, comes a new religious dispensation with new laws, calendar, scriptures, Prophet-Founders, etc. But as stated above, the spiritual teachings are always the same. It is one religion of God, and over time it's gone through different stages, which are the different dispensations. They're all related, they're all one.
Everyone teaches the Golden Rule.

It's true. There are many similarities between Islam and Christianity, especially in the old testement. Many people are so engrossed in hate that they are too blind to see them.

I agree, except Islamic people seem to be more authentic and their religion seems more defined.

That is a totally uneducated opinion you hold. The religions are quite different. If you are really interested, study both, but you make yourself out to be very ignorant in what you said.
Muslims may claim this is a continuation, but Christians certainly DO NOT.

"Minor" differences? Muslims deny the Christian doctrine of the deity of Jesus, the need for His atoning sacrifice (Qur'an 4:157-158), the Trinity (Qur'an 5:73), and much more.
