Shri Rajneesh was a great philosopher and thinker of modern era.

He flouted the hypocricy of relgions and useless rituals and customs

He revived the teachings of hinduism in a modernway... leaving aside the need for temples, churches, mosques, and priests.

Some of his ways of meditation were revolutionary hence were not liked by many people

He had some 10 case in USA and 122 cases in India

Because Osho was full of crap. Seriously, read his "The Greatest Challenge: The Golden Future" that document is so full of inaccuracies, errors, lies, distortions and downright stupid ideas about people and 'The Way Society Ought To be". Osho was disgusting, he was a terrorist, a liar, a sex pervert and it's good that he's dead. Nothing of any importance would ever get done by a bunch a retards 'meditating' and yelling 'hoo' at the top of their lungs. Who the hell wants to live in communes and love everybody? Anybody who ever bought into Osho's BS, needs to get a serious reality check.

the teachings of OSHO is different from all other scriptures. nirvana the eternity is attained only by practising strict, hard even cruel practices controlling the desires of mind and body. u can attain nirvana by practisiing sexual liberty is a new concept , not acceptable to majority. man is weak. if ur guru teaches u to indulge in vices to be released from all the desires in the end, over indulgence in any kind is not the basics of our system. his speeches are really good.

The real religious principles are given by God Himself in the scriptures. No man manufactured principles, however lofty it may seem in the estimation of misguided people, is useless and irreligious.

Padma Purana says that there are four different paramparas (disciplic sucession) giving out the knowledge of God.
1. Sri Sampradaya -Sri Ramanuja,
2. Brahma Sampradaya - Sri Madhavacarya
3. Kumara Sampradaya - Sri Nimbarkacarya, and
4. Rudra Sampradaya- Sri Visnuswami

A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), who comes in the line of, Brahma Sampradaya - Sri Madhavacarya, sampradaya makes his points below.

One should accept only their teachings and accept a guru in one of those lines. One should not accept a self-manufactured guru.

One must take shelter of one of these four sampradayas in order to understand the most confidential religious system. In the Padma Purana it is said, sampradaya-vihina ye mantras te nishphala matah: if one does not follow the four recognized disciplic successions, his mantra or initiation is useless. In the present day there are many apasampradayas, or sampradayas which are not bona fide, which have no link to authorities like Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, the Kumaras or Lakshmi. People are misguided by such samprdayas. The sastras say that being initiated in such a sampradaya is a useless waste of time, for it will never enable one to understand the real religious principles.
