I use Folder Lock - http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/ Here's the description on their website:
Folder Lock is a fast file-security program that can password-protect, lock, hide and encrypt any number of files, folders, drives, pictures and documents in seconds. Protected files are hidden, undeletable, inaccessible and highly secure. It hides files from kids, friends and co-workers, safeguards them from viruses, trojans, worms and spyware, and even protects them from networked PCs, cable users and hackers. Files can also be protected on USB Flash Drives, Memory Sticks, CD-RW, floppies and notebooks. Protection works even if files are taken from one PC to another on a removable disk, without the need to install any software. It locks files in Windows, DOS and even Safe Modes. Additional Options include Stealth Mode, Hacker Attempt Monitoring, Shred files, AutoLock, Auto Shutdown PC, Lock your PC, Erase PC tracks, 256-bit Blowfish Encryption and Context Menu in Explorer. It is Windows Vista/2003/XP/2000/NT/Me/98/98S compatible and works on all kinds of disk types like FAT16, FAT32, NTFS. Folder Lock is the most downloaded file-security program in the market today.

you are able to password shield your folder by password protection utility like (folder shield, my secret folder and so on.) I had the two considered one of those utility the two are working ok. i've got password secure many folders in my laptop with those softwares, no person can open the folders exept me because of the fact I in basic terms knows of the password. once you attempt to open the folder it activates for password, subsequently in basic terms those individual can open folders who knows of password, apart from you are able to no longer even harm the password and in case you overlook the password you are able to desire to format your computing device so while you're utilising those utility confirm to maintain the password which you will in no way overlook.

Put all files that you want in My Documents. Then set a password to your account. Afterwards create another account to enable anyone else to use your computer, but set it as limited account. The limited account cannot access Administrator's My Documents folder. You also have to set a password for the 'Administrator' account.

I usually use Folder Guard XP (you can find it here: http://folder-guard-xp.mainfiles.com/ )
It is very similar to Folder Lock, it's really easy to use and now my folders are only mine ;).
