They are only outdated and irrevelant - because of the fanatics and preachers, zealots and televangalists that abuse the true message that many religions offer.

Outdated, possibly but what do you think has come to replace it? Consumerism, politics, fashion?
But most are seen as irrelevant because they conflict with the viewpoints of secular society.
I am a Christian and I believe religion is neither outdated or irrelevant, the "old-fashioned" idea that marriage should be a partnership based on enduring love, rather than "great sex" or a business arrangement appeals to many.
If the spirit of religious morality (honesty, respect for others etc) was seen as relevant to modern society wouldn't things be better for everyone?

Religions are already out dated and always irrelevant for human beings . so for the major world religions were always disintegrate the human beings and tied up with their groups within the mental limitations and prove their strength through war with other religion. For the modern world definitely the new way of scientific physco approach (religion) is required.

Precisely! Imagine a religion that tells us that a man stopped the sun in order to prolong daytime so that he could complete his butchery of fellow men!! That most humans are still subscribing to religion today is, indeed, a sad commentary on our human capacity for reasoning. Anyway, let's humor them as gullibility is not a crime - at least not yet.

I see no reason Wicca will ever replace right into a important faith. it is no longer an indigenous faith such an Hinduism, that's deeply rooted in an entire inhabitants's lifestyle. it is likewise no longer evangelical like Christianity and Islam. (I have not have been given any concept why you think of Judaism is directly transforming into. when you consider that they do no longer seek for converts, I fail to work out how that ought to even take place) "it is extremely non violent." No it is no longer. we've hundreds in the protection stress. we've martial artists, cops, and so on. we sell accountability, and each so often protecting others demands violence. Jesus taught absolute pacifism. does not that make Christianity non violent? particular, many Christians are not, yet is that the fault of the religion? by the way, between the justifications that replaced replaced into because of the fact Christianity became a important means and had to handle the realities of the broader international. In Jesus's time it replaced into in fact a doomsday cult, with followers looking forward to the tip of the international to be close to. "Promotes environmental concerns." people could have the comparable concerns with out faith. no longer something stops a Christian from having such concerns. "Promotes equivalent rights for each individual." returned, does not require faith. countless people of countless faiths do the comparable, frequently being mentioned by their faith. My very Christian kinfolk has consistently supported equality, even back in the Nineteen Fifties whilst racism and sexism replaced into the prevalent norm. And we could be sparkling: there continues to be homophobe Wiccans. The founder himself replaced into against homosexuality. a lot of people take Wiccan ideals to assist equality, yet that does no longer propose its intrinsic. countless religions are useful. countless religions actively sell charity, as an occasion. i do no longer see Wicca as status out on that subject in any respect.

Most of the word's religions contain ideals and eternal truths that can be followed in any age.
However they have to be written down and interpreted. Depending on the language used in recording the "message" and the language used in the interpretation different meanings can be extracted.
Therefore the written word should not be taken literally. Generally there seems to be an ageless wisdom behind the written words which appears to be surprisingly similar in different religions.
The written word seems to be inadequate to explain the message. i.e. "Seek and ye shall find" etc.
The truth is not in the words, it is in the message behind the words.

We cannot say so in real terms. For the essence of all religions is to preach tolerance, peace love. But in their zeal, the priests have outstepped their designated fields and thus the impact of religions has become somewhat negative leading to the thinking.

totally...organized religions were man-made to maintain a civil society in the absence of law and also answers to many questions we have about the way things work around us. Now science has and can answer a lot what we see...
the mind is god's greatest gift to so lets not insult him by believing in something like the genesis...

Definately and they are trying to alter to explain the modern world. They are trying to alter to be accepted as knowing what we are finding out and that we would find it out. Religions are trying to change to agree with the truths that science has found. They will fail as they are untrue...the basic fact of life that no religous person is ever willing to accept is there is no god.
