If you are someone who thinks outside the box, it might be good to be with someone who is equally openminded. People like that exist in all religions, so don't look at the religion, look at the person.

Why not (At least in Buddhist context) ? There is a clause in Buddhism

"There are many routes and path to enlightenment, some are shorter, some takes longer time. Even the most evil person can get enlightened one day. Hence, do not despise others, use your wisdom the decipher the truth and the false"

Hence there should be no reason why a Buddhist wants to convert you to his/her religion :)

It's ok. Buddhist is the religion believe in love for all care. They have absolute tolerant for all religions. But pure buddhist is normally vegeterian. That's probably is the only thing you need to worry about is you are not.

you may feel uneasy about the relationship if your partner strongly believes in some aspects of his/her religion and you dont feel the same BUT u just need to remember not to force your own believes into others and if both of you can respect your differences then i think you will have no issues...

p.s. a free thinker with a buddhist is easier than muslim/christian with a buddhist if you ask me!

Buddhism is really peaceful, why turn someone down because they are a Buddhist? If you and s/he are compatible, then go for it. You can enlighten each other. Isn't that what free-thinking is about, being open-minded?

To be with somebody does not require religion as a prerequisite. One has to be mutually compatible emotionally, mentally and physically and hence there should not be any need of conversion. But the celebrities do take recourse to conversion for marrying each other because of religious restrictions and keep on their religions.

To all of you Buddhism is not a religion as like Christianity or Islam. It is a teaching whether you want to follow or not, it is like the Hinduism.
Please read the history and no one need to be converted. It is a true democratic way of living.
