When sifting through questions and answers, I see that a lot of the people's grammar sucks. How hard is it to (at least) put a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence, and a period at the end? This especially makes someone look foolish when they are trying to make some quick witted remark. I can understand a typo here and there, and I also know some of the people who post here aren't native English speakers.
I've seen children who post post here have better grammar then the adults. Why is this??????

I'm not saying I am an expert at grammar or anything. All I am saying is people can't seem to grasp the concept of a capital letter or period. I don't expect them to be perfect, just understandable.
A special message to JJ: Hey doofus, it's 2:16am here. I'm very tired, but I have to stay up and wait for someone. I'm just killing time here.

On Yahoo Answers ?
Have you not been into the world at large ? What about what you see out and about makes you think that this place is a dollar different than the overall picture ??
It, baisically is the dumbing down of the world as we've known it !! If you haven't noticed, there is a distinct Arrogance to people's ignorance within recent years--- and almost prideful thing about just how stupid they can be and still get by ! It is stunning, it is real, and it is rampant !

They look at it like life or school. They just don't care. They don't care if they get a good education or a good job as long as they can party. They only think about the here and now. Most of the kids now a days don't think they have a future any way so why should they really care. Get drunk or high on drugs and live off of welfare or mom and dad or grandpa and grandma. Live on the streets and beg for food or steal.

because this is teh internet, you are in our zone and we pwn u.
haha, just kidding.
Because the internet is developed under the wordy english language, as it progresses, it develops its own jargon and shortcuts through the agreement of the individuals that comes in contact with. Grammer became simplified because most people can read and get what the words/sentenses meant.
The internet world, is a world where information needs to be rapidly taken in. Thus grammer gets forfietted and gets replaced by sentences with lesser words and frills, and vocabulary gets fanciful with numbers to get the message across.

Around 50% of users of this forum do not speak English as their mother tongue. For some working language is English but most frequently used language is some thing else. This is one of the major reason for the "crappy grammar".
Then there is the modern generation SMS boys and girls. Who loves to write "I am great, how are you" as "i m gr8, h r u?"

Mostly because we're not getting graded on spelling and punctuation.
It's not a paper, it's not a letter, it's not a blog, it's not a test. It's for entertainment purposes only. So a lot of people don't care.

I know, it get's on my nerves. I'm one of those people who like to correct people when they are speaking incorrectly, I do use restraint though b/c I would get on everyone's last nerve. However, I must admit when I'm typing too fast b/c I'm on a rant and have a lot to say...I have made some of those mistakes that I loathe. I do try to correct them though. I'm also really bad at run-ons and putting prepositions at the end of sentences on this site. :o)

Same reason you put the first comma in the wrong place - it follows 'that', not 'it'. Still in your intro: 'there are a lot of people THAT or WHO have crappy grammar' or 'lots of people have crappy grammar' but certainly not 'there are a lot of people have' without a relative pronoun.
