my friend is 17 (turning 18 in 4 months) and she is really into this 24 year old guy (he only turned 24 about 2 months ago). he flirts with her alot and he cares about her just in the way he does things for her, and they get on heaps well. im just worried cos i dont want her to get used, do u think he really likes her or not?? She is an attractive, smart, bubbly, bright girl, so is he just using her or does he like her??

Their age difference is not that significant in the long run, however being that he is 24 right now, his previous expereinces would dictate his prioraties with her and weather he is just looking for sex or for a real realtionship.
however, your friend is very young, and most likely not very experienced in relationships, so she does have the potential to get hurt because she may put him on a pedestal... but with that said, a 6 year age difference is normal if they are both mature people who know what they want in life and are ready for a relationship.
You cant really predict how their realtionship would go because you do not know his true intentions and it is close to impossible to tell if his intent is to only sleep with her, to casually date her or to have a serious relatinship with her.
If they have a solid frienship that has been around for atleast a year or two then maybe this is genuine intrest in one another, otherwise, warn your friend to go slow and develop a frienship first, this will give her the best predictor of if he cares about her genuinly or if he is intrested in sex only.

well it's hard to say what anyone's intentions are...but you've said he shows how much he cares...that is something fairly hard to fake so roll with it....what are you really worried about? it doesn't seem like you've put a real worry out there...has he shown somehow that he is using her? there must be a reason you are thinking that.....

Kind of hard to tell since we don't know the guy personally. Try to see his romantic background history and you can tell if he's just playing your friend.

do you (as HER FRIEND) know? how do you think we should know? As long as my friend is happy I'll be happy for her. But I also will be there for her whenever she needs me.
