I've heard it said that when a man begins to work out, dress nicer, or otherwise improve his image, he's looking to impress a woman.
If a guy in a long term relationship, who has never previously shown any major interest in his appearance, has a sudden interest in working out and getting in shape, is he looking to impress someone new or move on? Or is he simply trying to improve upon himself, maybe for his girlfriend's pleasure?

If you want to find out, join the gym too. Maybe he has been eyeing at someone there.

I've also heard that he may be trying to impress someone else, or prepare for the single's scene. I would ask yourself if you two are really having problems, and how things are going. It things seem to be going well, and you are talking and things are exciting, I wouldn't be very concerned. Maybe go to the gym with him, wear some great workout clothes, and "pick him up". Pretend you don't know each other, and make it exciting. Besides, working out is a great enhancement to your sex life, you'll both feel great, and you'll both look great. He won't want anyone else!

Maybe he looked in the mirror, did not like what he saw, so all of the above. Sometimes just seeing a picture of yourself will be enough to motivate you. Encourage him.
Maybe the doctor told him to shape up or his employer.

maybe he took a look in the mirror and didnt like what he saw. or maybe he is considering a military future and wants to get a head start on the look. who knows ive been fat gotten in shape then got fat again. working out is all about how i feel about myself. if i dont like what i see i try to change it. thats probably what he is doing

It seems odd that it would be sudden without having someone else to want to impress. So I would say that he IS trying to impress someone else.
If it was for his girlfriend's pleasure he would have started his improvement long ago.

I like to believe that he's doing it for himself so that he can find himself another girlfriend. You had better be on the save side; start mixing with others and find yourself a companion.

dont worry
he just want to impress his mirror asking " whos the handsomest?"
but be careful
if mirror answers " lord you are"
he will start fool around , break the mirror now.
