i wouldn't....get some lubraderm lotion. i've got 5 tattoos and lubraderm is the only thing any of the artist have agreed upon as aftercare! and here's a tip...hemp lotion makes the colors in your tattoo brilliant so that is a good lotion to use after your tat is totally healed (about 2 weeks)

Bactericin is also a good ointment. It helps your tattoo heal the way it's supposed when an antibiotic ointment like neosporin will turn out a faded tattoo. As for lotion anything with vitamin E will do good in keeping your skin moisturized and your tattoo looking great.

aloe may dry it out, try plain lotion like lubriderm or keri. wash gently with dial antibacterial liquid hand soap. i prefer to use bacitracin instead of a&d for the first 2 days, and then switch to this stuff called tattoo goo for 3 to 4 days. its in a round little metal tin, you can get it at any tattoo shop. after that i switch to lubriderm till its healed. never, ever use neosporin! but i wouldnt recommend aloe.

I used Vick's vapor rub on my tats and they all healed up really quick. They didn't get infected or mess up the art work or anything like that. I don't know about the gel though.

Bacitracin is highly recommended. Use a very thin amount at a time.

aloevera is not a lotion. it really needs to be a lotion. i use cetaphyl but there is also a lubriderm and a vaseline intensive care that are fragrance free.
