I had a compressed disk in my spine when i was 14 (jumped off a high roof) and have had probs ever since - im 22 now. as a result i got a slight scoliosis and every now and then my back "flares up" the muscle next to my spine on left hand side gets incredibly sore and inflammed, i cant twist to the left.

my doctor prescribed me Naproxen 500 for the pain, but it does absolutely nothin except make me nausious (spelling)

anyone with a similar back pain issue- what have you been prescribed that actually worked - help

You would benefit greatly from massage therapy. That will help with the soreness and inflammation. Chiropractic service can offer many other solutions and are the best at resolving back problems. I've enclosed a link where you can find a good chiropractor in your area in the USA.

Ice packs placed on the back for fifteen minutes in a time can help with the inflammation And pain.

ask your doctor if there's any other medication he could give you for the pain and explain that the other medication did nothing for you. You may want to seek a second opinion.

A combination of Valium and Soma will work wonders.

You may want to inform your physician that Naproxen is a useless bunch of junk for your condition.

He needs to return to med school.
