Cracked heels are a product of the wrong shoes or going barefoot. As you get older the fat in the heal becomes less and if you are not wearing shoes that help support the heel, the heel spreads out and thus you can have cracking. You may have an infection going on if it is really sore. Clean the cracks well with hydrogen peroxide to clean any debri that may have gotten in there (ie; socks, dirt) then soak in warm water. Pat dry and clip away any harden skin. Apply a antibiotic cream and bandage. Then go an get a pair of shoes that support the heel.
If you are wondering why I know about this, it is because my husband had this problem and it is what I found out by researching on the internet. He got better shoes and his feet are not cracking any longer.

Hi,
Would you like to try a detox. I had a friend who is in her forties with the same problem. After she did the detox, her cracked heels were gone and now the skin on her feet are all soft and smooth.
Usually when our skin on the fit is hard and dry and cracks, it means that a certain part of our body has poor metabolism. A detox can undo that.
And my detox programme is simple. All you need to do is three things.
Number one, follow the detox programme which requires you to change your diet a little bit. Eg, take more vege and less meat and seafoods.
Number two, use 1 minute a day to take some natural health foods that I take to enhance the speed and the effect of the detox.
Number three, drink lots of water to flush the toxins out..
And that's it.
The rest is up to you.
So what do you think? ;)
If you are keen to find out more about my detox programe, you can email me at verityy@yahoo.com.

that is for sure the best. this sounds really gross but get butter and put it on your heels, really thick, then put some socks on and sleep like that. do that for seven nights in a row. try not to let your feet dry out like wearing sandals and things like that. wear a clean new pair of socks every single day. good luck

You can try to soak with lemon and warm water, apply special heels treatment lotion and cover with socks at night.

Exfoliating the skin on your feet and heels will help remove dead skin, thus preventing cracking and dryness. Rice flour can be used a part of a homemade exfoliating scrub.
