I'm a victim of migraines also, but I haven't had one in a long time. Your the second person I've seen talk about them here. I get similar distortions in my vision just before the migraine actually hits me. If I take aspirin right when I see the distortions, then the migraine will never hit me full force, and the distortions will go away in 15-20 minutes, and I'll be fine. Otherwise, it'll put me out of commission for most of the day due to the headache, and the horrendous nausea. I also have a similar jaw problem, but I doubt the two are linked. I also doubt that you have a vision problem, but it's a good idea to check. You're just another victim of migraines. If you do the same thing I do when you see the distortions in your vision, I bet you'll be fine...as long as you catch it right away. I don't get the numbness that you do, but I have heard of that being a symptom of migraines. You're not alone. You'll be okay. Just act quickly when you know it's coming. Also, there are very good OTC migraine medications out there that work very well.

You need to see a dr. The auras are a bad sign. Studies have been done on people who get auras beforehand and the results were scary. I don't remember exactly what the result can be but you need to see a dr. I know this is half a story but I'm sure if you search migraines there should be some info. for you.

While migraines and auras sometimes go together they can also be a sign of a petit mal seizure. You should have an EEG run to see if you have epilepsy.

Your doctor should have referred you to a neurologist, not a dentist. You should be checked out, but it sounds like a migraine to me. There are tryptan medications like Imitrex that will stop a migraine in its tracks if you catch it early enough.

I wouldn't worry..those are typical migraine symptoms including the numbness...hang in there.. try excedrin migraine and tums if you are nauseas.
