Yes it is. It still has a percent of caffeine, but it's a much lesser amount.

I have seen many papers detailing concerns about caffeine intake.

There are many papers however, extolling it's virtues. One study showed people who drank more than 2 cups of coffee a day had a 44% lower chance of showing liver damage. In clinical studies, caffeine has been found to significantly enhance performance not only in endurance sports, but also in shorter events such as middle distance running and sprint cycling. Some studies conclude that caffeine is beneficial in that improves the performance of the brain and helps to reduce heart disease and other diseases as well.

The process of decaffeination leaves a lot of undesirable toxins in the resulting brew. While these are in trace amounts, personally I'd prefer to take my chances with proper coffee in moderation and other drinks like Redbush tea etc when I don't need the caffeine.

It's better for you as less caffeine, but that makes it pointless. Tea has quite a bit of caffeine in it too, someone once told me more than coffee but not sure if that true. I would drink normal coffee just less of it.

I think so as it is a stimulant after all. I dont like it tho its like theres something missing (which there is!!) however i found myself in a desperate situation the other day and decaf was all that i had (left over by my visiting sister) so i had it with a big old dollop of light mucsavado sugar. surprisingly it was very nice. suck it and see.......................

It all depends on how it has been decaff-ed and what you mean by better for you.
If you needed it to stay awake during a long drive I doubt it would be 'better' for you.
