I finished my Bsc in biology 4 years ago and took out a student loan to cover the costs. I've now been accepted onto a pharmacy degree course and was wondering if i'm eligible for a student loan or other funding this time?

Any help would be appreciated!
Many thanks
john

Yes, you are eligible for a variety of funding. The only type of funding that you won't be eligible for is a Pell Grant, because Pell is only offered to high-need students who have not year earned a Bachelor's degree.

If this second degree is considered graduate work (as the answerer above me suggests), then you will only be eligible for loans. Thankfully, the loan amounts for graduate students (particularly health professions students) are much higher than those for undergraduates, so you should have no trouble finding the funding for your new program. Make sure you look into Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, and, if you are a grad student, PLUS Loans (which you can borrow for any educational costs).

If your pharmacy degree is, indeed, considered undergraduate work, you might be eligible for SEO Grants but will most likely not receive as much loan funding as if you were a grad student.

Of course, pharmacy is not considered to be an undergraduate program because you are going for a doctorate. You can take out more money, and you'll need it because the tuition is so high.
