A dog is the same as a small child. How much sweets or chocolate would you give a tot of one or two years old. Half that and that should be fine for a dog.

A dog should never have chocolate or anything with caffeine in it. A dogs heart races on the norm and then when you add a stimulant such as chocolate it races even faster-not a very good combination. It could lead to a heart attack or possibly a stroke. Sugar is not good for their teeth. If you really want to reward your dog a stroke of the hand and encouraging words are all you need to pass out to the canine. The words do not even have to make sense to us, so long as you say them in a loving voice all the while petting the dog.

Hi, I'm a breeder of Staffordshire Bull Terriers, chocolates can not kill your dog, but too much will kill the dog. I would not recommend giving your dog any chocolates or sweets as it is not good for their teeth. Like one cup of coffee cant kill a dog but 10 a day will.
Your vet-approved food is enough for the dog, vitamins, irons, oils ext.
Remember, you need to take your dog at least once a year to the vet to clean his/her teeth.
You do not want a dog of 7 years with bad teeth.
Dry dog food (pellets) and I also give them the 'nails of cows' that you can buy at most vets and shops that is also excellent for the teeth.
Remember, no bones to the dogs as it is dangerous and can chip or break the teeth.

Dogs are kept healthier with dog food. Sweets can damage their teeth with tooth decay and has the potential to lead to diabetes. Chocolate contains theobromine which is similar to caffeine but not metabolized well by dogs and many other animals. It does take a significant amount to kill a dog, but many suggest just to avoid it altogether just to be safe. Have a dog gone great week.

You can kill a dog very quickly by giving him/her chocolate.
Do not do this!
http://www.dogownersdigest.com/news/library/chocolate-dog-poisoning.shtml
(above talks about how dogs like choc. but it can be lethal)
http://www.transportcafe.co.uk/dogchocolate.html
(above gives doses of choc. that can be lethal)
Sweets are the same for everyone. Sure the dog likes it because it's sweet but it's not needed. And the weight gain can cause health problems.
Here are some websites that have healthy dog candy.

never and i mean never feed your dog chocolates OR sweets!! the whole health thing is practically that the sugar and other ingredients in "human sweet foods" are very harmful to dogs especially to their sight.
Many dogs go blind if fed sweets or chocolates.
best of luck! and keep your dog healthy!

sweets can give dogs and cats some health problems........
.she loves to munch on small carrots which are good for her teeth and fiber too.......stay away from chocolate.............(that means with all the candy being around over Easter, you have to be extra cautious..........its going to give parents, kids and their dentists hissy fits!!!!!) good luck......S.T. from OHIO

Chocolates, coffee, raisins and grapes, green kinned potatoes and I believe kiwi are toxic to dogs
and sugars could lead to them to become diabetic.
try vegetables and fruits like apples, bananas oranges etc
yogurt and cottage cheese is good for them in small amounts
